The Joint Commission International (JCI) accreditation awarded to ASST Grande Ospedale Metropolitano Niguarda represents one of the world's most prestigious recognitions for quality, patient safety and organisational excellence in healthcare. Achieved by only a handful of public hospitals in Italy, this milestone required not only the continuous enhancement of clinical and organisational processes, but also a major programme of infrastructure modernisation and transformation.
As part of this journey, Bestmind supported Niguarda through Project Management, Programme Control and Data Analytics services for the projects funded under the Milan-Cortina 2026 Olympic Programme and Italy's National Recovery and Resilience Plan (PNRR), coordinating 30 construction sites across more than 18 buildings throughout the hospital campus.
The challenge was particularly demanding: delivering refurbishment, expansion and infrastructure upgrade works while ensuring uninterrupted hospital operations and maintaining full continuity of patient care.
To support this transformation, Bestmind developed a digital Information Centrebased on Microsoft Power BI, designed as a single platform for monitoring, planningand controlling the entire transformation programme.

The platform brought together spatial, technical, financial and scheduling data for every hospital building, providing stakeholders with a single, real-time view of ongoing and planned works across the entire campus.

Through interactive maps and multi-level dashboards, the platform provides access to:
The Information Centre was developed using spatial, technical, financial and scheduling data collected from multiple stakeholders involved in the hospital transformation programme. These data were subsequently integrated, structured and made accessible through a single environment for monitoring, planning and control.
Bestmind was responsible for designing and developing the platform, integrating and structuring the information, managing the data, and coordinating the operational deployment of the system. The result is a decision-support tool that provides real-time assistance to the Technical Office, Project Managers and operational leadership, ensuring the availability, traceability and consistency of information whose scale and complexity could not have been managed through individual knowledge alone.
The works for the SEW-EURODRIVE New Drive Technology Center - a leading German multinational company in industrial automation systems - in Borgo Panigale, in the Municipality of Bologna, are nearing completion. The new hub will accommodate research and development, production, logistics, assembly, service and office functions, in the heart of Italy’s Motor Valley and in a strategic position along the A14 motorway corridor.
With a total project value of approximately €20 million, the development involved the construction of a new building with an overall surface area of around 13,000 sqm. The complex is organized into two functional volumes: the production area, arranged on a single level with technical areas and support mezzanines, and the office area, distributed over three above-ground levels around the central triple-height hall.
The construction of the building was entrusted to the PRaCT Business Network — composed of Truzzi S.p.A., Proteo Engineering S.r.l., R.G.M. Elettrotecnica Industriale S.r.l., Corazza S.r.l., Ialc Serramenti S.r.l. and Imeco S.r.l. — with Bestmind supporting the integrated management of the construction phase under an EPCM contract.
Bestmind’s activities included:
From an architectural standpoint, the building’s most distinctive feature is its façade, composed of 175 vertical fins that wrap the extensive glazed surface and define the elevation visible from the motorway. In addition to giving the building a strong identity, the system contributes to solar shading, combining the architectural quality of the envelope with the building’s energy performance. The roof also supports natural lighting within the production areas and allows for the integration of the photovoltaic system.
The building incorporates energy-efficiency-oriented solutions, including a photovoltaic system of 344.25 kWp and centralized mechanical systems serving both the office and production areas.
The project presented significant complexities, both in terms of managing interferences during specific construction phases — such as the execution of the façades in parallel with other external works — and in achieving the quality standards required by the client and the Works Supervision, which were particularly high compared with the average standards of industrial buildings.
A further element of complexity was the coordination of the six companies forming the PRaCT Network, particularly with regard to the integrated construction design process and schedule monitoring. The schedule was managed as a dynamic control tool and was subject to multiple revisions in order to ensure compliance with contractual deadlines.
The result was achieved through the continuous involvement of all stakeholders throughout the different stages of the process, with the aim of integrating the client’s requirements, the requests of the Works Supervision and the contractors’ operational activities. This approach represents one of the core principles of project management within an EPCM framework.

The Municipality of Venice has approved the project proposals and declared them to be in the public interest for the concession of the Bosco dello Sport facilities.
In the final week of June, the project proposals for the concessions relating to the Bosco dello Sport sports facilities were officially presented to the City Council.
On 10 July 2025, the Municipality of Venice formally recognized the public interest of the plans submitted, including the one relating to the Arena, thereby enabling the launch of the second phase of the project finance procedure, which will lead to the identification of the concessionaires.
Among the approved projects is the proposal for the management of the Arena in Tessera, submitted by Bestmind on behalf of S.S.D. Reyer Venezia Mestre S.p.A., the promoter of the initiative. The proposal, which had already been presented before the City Council on 26 June by Eng. Wilmer Berton, Founder and Managing Director of Bestmind, has been confirmed as aligned with the Administration’s strategic objectives.
Bestmind: the technical and management lead behind the Arena proposal
Bestmind oversaw the formal submission of the concession proposal on behalf of Reyer, coordinating all project, operational, financial, legal and administrative components. The work included:
· the preparation of the Arena’s forty-year operational and functional management plan;
· the definition of technical and technological improvements to the project used as the basis for the tender;
· the preparation of the certified Economic and Financial Plan;
· the drafting of the concession agreement template.
The approval by the City Council formally confirms the public interest of the proposal and allows it to be incorporated into the Municipality of Venice’s planning instruments, thus opening the way to the second phase of the project finance procedure: the tender for the selection of the concessionaire.
“We supported Reyer in developing a solid, transparent proposal aligned with the city’s objectives: sport, culture, inclusion and social impact. For us at Bestmind, presenting the forty-year concession project — one that will have a concrete impact on the social fabric — is an important achievement.”
Wilmer Berton, Founder and Managing Director, Bestmind
Towards the tender: room for enhanced proposals
Following the Council’s approval, the plan now enters the municipal planning framework and may proceed to tender, during which participants will submit their own enhanced proposals.
In the next phase, participants will be required to submit technical and financial offers that improve upon the tender base, in compliance with the principles established by the City Council and the Municipal Executive: social inclusion, openness to the local community, sustainability, and the public function of sport. The total value of the proposed improvements must be equal to or greater than that set out in the approved proposals.
A concrete vision for the city’s future
With the approval of the proposal submitted by Bestmind on behalf of Reyer, the intention to develop a modern, multifunctional sports and cultural infrastructure, fully integrated into Venice’s urban fabric, has been reaffirmed.
A place designed to be lived every day, capable of generating lasting value for the community.

"This alliance strengthens our reach across Western Europe and allows us to offer even more advanced and tailored solutions, reflecting our shared commitment to excellence and innovation."

The Real Estate sector is constantly evolving, adapting to the changing demands of the property market, which, more than ever in the last decade, are reshaping the profile of our cities and lifestyles. Alongside this, the entire construction supply chain is undergoing a profound transformation, driven by the need for greater efficiency, transparency, and quality in building processes.
In this context, BESTMIND has chosen to adopt a specific project management model, based on three key elements that redefine the traditional paradigm:
What makes BESTMIND innovative is its ability to integrate these three elements into a cohesive system that eliminates rigidity and inefficiencies, ensuring transparency and continuous optimization through open collaboration among all stakeholders.
Today, the market is finally ready for this evolution.
Investors, companies, designers, and the entire supply chain are now demanding efficient, flexible, transparent, and innovative management models.
